On this day, December 13th, 1920, George Shultz an American economist, statesman and 60th United States Secretary of State is born in New York City. Shultz was Secretary of State from 1982 until 1989 under President Reagan. Prior to entering politics Shultz was a professor of economics at MIT and the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
