On this day, October 4th, 1946, Susan Sarandon is born in New York City, she is one of nine children. Sarandon is an accomplished actress and activist. Although she has played many roles and won numerous awards, the film she is often times the most well known for is Thelma and Louise. Sarandon also has a long history of activism, she is a supporter of gay rights and in 1999 she was appointed UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
