On this day, December 15th, 1918, actor Jeff Chandler is born in Brooklyn. Chandler began his career in radio and became one of the top stars at the box office from 1952 to 1955. In 1951 he was nomiated for an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for the film, Broken Arrow. Chandler died on June 17th, 1961 as a result of complications after surgery for a spinal disc hemiation. The complications resulted in additional surgery and his children were compensated after filing a malpractice suit. He is buried in Hillside Memorial Park Cemetary in Culver City, California.
