On this day, December 18th, in 1890 Edwin Howard Armstrong is born in the Chelsea distrcit of New York City. Armstrong was an electrical engineer and inventor.
He invented the regenerative circuit and patented it as an undergrad in 1914. He is considered the inventor of FM Radio. He held 42 patents and received numerous awards. After studying at Columbia University he would later become a professor at the school.
