The Customer's Afternoon Letter was created by Charles Dow and became a revolutionary tool for individual investors. Prior to this, stock tables were not published daily and allowed for company's to obscure their numbers. The Letter also made public quarterly and annual information regarding company financial information which was something that only insiders previously had knowledge of.
